Russian Hair

Hair extensions have increased so much in popularity that everybody wants to be a part of the hair extension revolution but very few people actually specialize in this field and even fewer use hair of good quality. The reason for this is that most extension artists and many so sellers of hair extensions cannot tell the difference between good and bad quality hair. Most imagine that if the hair is 100% Human, it must be of good quality.
WRONG!!!
When hair is sold as 100% Human, be very cautious as this could mean a number of things. It is usually Asian/Indian hair, which is naturally black/very dark brown in color. When this hair is coloured it takes on the consistency of straw and as for blonde? Forget it! Never expect to get much time from this quality hair.
Also, caution should be applied when using so-called "EUROPEAN QUALITY" or "100% EUROPEAN REMY HAIR". Silicone Oil treatment makes this type of hair to look "silky" at first, but invariably, this is NOT "European Hair"; it is hair that has been Acid Processed to be "Tangle Free" and to look like "European Hair". It is usually Asian/Indian hair and as stated before, will not last very long. To begin with the hair looks nice; but it has been coated with silicone oil to add shine and body to the hair. However, after a few washes the silicone layer starts to wash out.
Then quickly the hair becomes duller and loses its sheen. It becomes brittle and dry. It starts to break down. Partially removed by acid reversed cuticle, originally covered by the silicone will become exposed which causes tangling and matting with your own hair . Every wash will worsen this condition. What you are then left with is acid treated Asian/Indian hair.
True European hair is of better quality, being silkier than Asian/Indian hair with a natural wave. Experienced hair extension artists will invariably use this quality hair, it is more expensive but the results are fair and this hair will last longer than all of the aforementioned qualities. The main difficulty with this type of hair is that as it is usually grown very dark naturally. This means that in order to alter the shade, the hair has to be stripped of its original colour and then re-coloured - usually with fabric dyes. As the hair has already been through several chemical processes, by the time it reaches the client most of the goodness has gone from the hair. It makes re-colouring impossible without causing severe damage. Because of the amount of processing that has taken place, this quality hair will dry out and split eventually.

European Hair

This hair is collected from different parts of Europe. As you can imagine, it is more expensive than Chinese or Indian hair, because it is harder to source . Asian hair is the least expensive but due to its coarseness may not be the best match with your own. European hair is the most expensive on the market. The major advantage of natural hair is that it can be treated and maintained pretty much as you would your own hair. You also need to use top quality shampoos conditioners and treatments, and does retain its health well. When blowdrying, always use a product that contains a thermal protector. This will help prevent damage.
One of the highest quality hair is European Remy which is some of the finest and most beautiful human hair in the world with all cuticles in the same direction. If the cuticle scales are not facing the same direction, hair will interlock like Velcro, this will lead to tangled/damaged hair.Cheaper hair is very often placed in an acid bath which completely destroys the cuticle. To restore the shine this hair is covered with a silicon layer. It looks beautiful but after a few washes the silicon is removed and the hair matts, tangles, and becomes dry.
European human hair does not necessarily come from Europe. It is a group name for different hair with an almost similar structure. Typical European human hair is relatively thin and has an oval cross-section. This is a popular hair type for a human hair extension.
The majority of hair sold today is non-cuticle hair, which is less expensive. So if you want to spend less money on your hair extension the hair will start matting, tangling and become dry after just a few washes. You can be assured all our hair is Remy/cuticle correct.

Cheaper Types of Hair

Indian Hair
There are different grades of Indian hair and it can be very inconsistant in quality like being that of a young child’s with little environmental damage, or being hair from an older person with a little more coarseness to the hair caused by age and environment.
There are no regulations in the hair distribution industry, so you need to ensure you are buying from a respected wholesaler.
Chinese Hair
Is suitable for Asian customers but has a very large cross section and tends to look thick and course and very unnatural.
